The Houston Texans do not plan to sign Earl Thomas, according to a source.

The free agent safety met with Houston and underwent a physical. Thomas had a workout scheduled, but it did not take place.

Bill O'Brien told Thomas' agents that the NFL required the Texans to cancel Thomas' workout because of COVID-19 concerns.

However, a source said the decision not to sign Thomas wasn't related to COVID-19.

The Houston Texans are likely to sign Earl Thomas.

The Baltimore Ravens released Thomas in August after he had an on-field altercation with teammate Chuck Clark. Thomas allegedly punched Clark during practice.

On Monday, the Texans put safety A.J. Moore on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, although he is expected to return later this season.

The Chicago Bears gave Tarik Cohen a contract extension over the weekend, but Allen Robinson's future with the team remains in question.

Cohen received a new three-year worth up to $18.25 million.

"Regardless of whether I got mine or not, it's definitely time for [Robinson] to get his," Cohen said. "I even left some money on the plate. I took less so he could get more, so to say. I would definitely love to see my boy get extended. It means a lot to the team."

Cohen and other teammates have been at the forefront of pressuring Bears' management to lock down Robinson.

The New York Giants have agreed to sign Devonta Freeman.

The Giants lost Saquon Barkley to a torn ACL in Week 2.

Freeman was released by the Atlanta Falcons in March. Freeman rushed 184 times for 656 yards in 2019 to go with 59 catches for 410 yards.

The Denver Broncos have agreed to sign Blake Bortles to a one-year deal.

The Broncos will be without Drew Lock for three to five weeks with a shoulder injury.

Jeff Driskel will start Sunday's home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Brett Rypien is expected to serve as backup after moving from the practice squad to the roster.

Borles was backup quarterback for the Los Angeles Rams last season.

Ziggy Anash has agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with the San Francisco 49ers.

Anash will boost the 49ers' pass rush after they lost Joey Bosa for the season with a torn ACL.

The New York Giants will work out Devonta Freeman on Monday, according to a source.

Saquon Barkley likely suffered a season-ending knee injury in Week 2.

Freeman visited the Philadelphia Eagles over the weekend, but left without a contract.

In need of depth at wide receiver, the San Francisco 49ers have signed Mohamed Sanu to a one-year deal.

Kyle Shanahan hinted at the addition during a new conference on Monday.

"We'll see how these injuries go, but I love Sanu," Shanahan said. "He's a hell of a player, so him being out there is always a possibility ... I wouldn't rule that out at all. He's available and he's definitely a guy I really respect and I think everyone in this league respects. So, we'll see how it goes this week."

Sanu was expected to report to the 49ers on Tuesday night. Due to COVID-19 protocols, the earliest the wide receiver could practice is Friday.

Allen Robinson has removed all references to the Chicago Bears as he grows frustrated with the state of contract extension talks.

Robinson has not made a trade request as of now.

"He feels like he's been disrespected," said Tom Pelissero. "And the Bears offers, to this point, have not reflected his fair market value."

The Bears have a history of signing their core players to extensions. 

The New Orleans Saints were interested in signing Tom Brady had Drew Brees decided to retire this past offseason.

Sean Payton and Brady share a respectful relationship and the Saints believed they could land Brady.

Brees eventually decided to continue his playing career and signed a two-year, $50 million deal. Brady signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers a few days later.

The Los Angeles Chargers and Miami Dolphins also had interest in Brady.
